Worcester Create the Vote Campaign

The City of Worcester's Cultural Development Division and Election Commission have partnered on an effort which combines local art opportunities with voter activation.

Residents of Worcester are invited to submit designs reimagining the sticker voters receive after casting their ballots on Election Day. Submissions must be received by Sunday, September 1, 2024. Finalist designs will be selected and shared on social media for public voting to determine final winners. Winning designs will be available in multiple languages for in-person and mail-in Worcester voters. Winning designers will receive a $300 dollar cash prize.

ARTIST REQUIREMENTS:

Full color CIRCULAR vectorized logo submissions must be submitted on this form by the deadline.
Participant(s) must be a resident of Worcester.
Participants under 18 years of age will require parental/guardian signature below.
Design MUST include text "My Vote Counts" - designers are encouraged to submit their designs in English and additional languages. Correct translations of the selected phrase into Worcester's most widely spoken languages are listed below.
All content must be original.
Offensive imagery and material will automatically disqualify submitted work.
Design should be limited to 6 colors.
Image resolution should be 300 DPI.
Artists may use any medium that can be digitized.
Participant(s) may include up to 3 design concepts; designs concepts may be submitted in more than one language.
Submission selection factors: Reflection of voting tradition, creativity, uniqueness, visual impact, design quality.

***By proposing and submitting their work, contest participants grant the City of Worcester and the Worcester Cultural Coalition unlimited rights of use of to the work including, but not limited to, print and digital channels indefinitely.***

Additionally, the City of Worcester or the Worcester Cultural Coalition may alter, modify or revise the logo as it is seen necessary. The City of Worcester and the Worcester Cultural Coalition reserves the right to not select a winner, if in its sole discretion, no suitable entries are received. Winners hereby grant the City of Worcester and the Worcester Cultural Coalition a non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide license to print, broadcast, publish, store, reproduce, distribute, syndicate, and otherwise use and exhibit the Submission (along with your name and/or likenesses, statements about the contest, and/or biographical information) in all media now known and later come into being for purposes of trade, advertising, news, public relations, and promotional purposes without further compensation, notice, review or consent. Winner represents and warrants that they have full legal right, power and authority to grant City of Worcester and Worcester Cultural Coalition the foregoing license and if applicable, have secured all necessary rights from any participants in, and contributors to, their Submission in order to grant such a license. By entering this contest, you represent and warrant that your entry is an original work of authorship, and does not violate any third party’s proprietary or intellectual property rights. If your entry infringes upon the intellectual property of another, you will be disqualified at the sole discretion of the City of Worcester and Worcester Cultural Coalition. If the content of your entry is claimed to constitute infringement of any proprietary or intellectual proprietary rights of any third party, you shall, at your sole expense, defend or settle against such claims.
